Colwell made her television debut in 2019 in the mystery series Nancy Drew, in which she took on a guest role. In the same year, she made a brief appearance in the martial arts drama series Warrior. She made her contribution to Resident Alien in 2021 as a guest star in SyFy's sci-fi comedy. These appearances helped her make a name for herself among genre fans and secure further engagements.
