Bio

José Luis Valle is a director, producer and screenwriter born in El Salvador, who has become a Mexican citizen, where he studied literature and film. In 2006, he directed the short film "Quimera" which won the competition of the Kodak Film School and received an Honorable Mention at the International Festival of the Cina in Guadalajara. In 2009, his documentary "The Miracle of the Pope" was screened at the Locarno Film Festival. After receiving support from the World Film Fund, his first fiction feature film, "Trabajadores" was released in 2013 in the Panorama section of the Berlinale, and won the 'Abrazo D'Or' for Best Latin American Film at the Festival de Biarritz (France), the 'Colón de Oro' for the best Ibero-American film at the Ibero-American Festival of Huelva (Spain), and the Best First Film Award, both at the Guadalajara and Morelia festivals.
